I warmly welcome you to the Department of Library and Information Science (LIS) on behalf of our dear students, non-teaching and teaching staff members of the Department. The Department of LIS was established in February 2022 to provide sound education and training in Library and Information Science, Archives, Records Management, Database Management, Knowledge Management etc. with its associated relevant and integrated technology so that graduates are equipped with skills required for work in modern Libraries and Information Centres.

The Department has highly qualified staff with a state-of-art laboratory, a departmental library and other relevant and supporting technological facilities. We embrace and encourage a symbiotic exchange of knowledge between research and practice. The Department is an international centre of excellence, dedicated to the advancement of LIS as an academic discipline and vocational practice.

We welcome students from all backgrounds who are interested in starting or advancing within the information professions because it is our mission to foster competent library and information professionals.
